Stage Principal Welcome
“Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents with high expectations.” ~ Bob Beauprez
Dear GPBS Families,
It's with great pride, excitement, and passion to welcome you all, GPBS existing and prospective parents for a new academic year as the Principal of EYFS and Key Stages 1.
The doors of that wonderful kingdom are now open for your child in which he/she will feel welcomed, heard, safe, supported, accepted, and engaged.
The years of early childhood are the most precious and influential moments in a child’s life that make the most unforgettable memories that will last for a lifetime. These stages are one of the most significant milestones your child will pass by. It's where your child will build his/her educational foundation as well as his/her character by getting exposed to enormous, remarkable, and spectacular educational, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional experiences that will prepare him/her for the future and embed lifelong learning skills.
We believe that students are the heart of the learning process, and parents are the main influence in their children’s lives as well as the school, and a successful and fruitful educational experience is a result of cooperation, understanding, and dedication between school and home. Our philosophy is to build a strong bond and partnership with you, so your child can develop a sense of trust and respect in us and the school environment.
At GPBS, we will strive to make the learning process a positive and rewarding experience through our qualified and dedicated staff who are committed to providing a safe and nurturing student-centered community that fosters respect for individual differences and ensures a desire to develop a generation of inquisitive students who will become lifelong learners in their various pursuits of excellence.
We strongly agree that every child is unique and has his/her own temperament and learning style. At GPBS, we are committed to providing our students with a high-quality education, complemented by a broad range of extracurricular and enrichment activities in a safe and nurturing environment where they can grow, thrive and achieve their highest potential. We will always support our students to express their feelings as they build meaningful relationships with us. We believe that when a child's social and emotional needs are met, he/she can participate fully in the wide range of learning opportunities at school, and thus will gain more confidence, self-esteem, and build positive attitudes. Looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential academically and socially. Rest assured that my door is open to your suggestions, questions, and/or concerns, and throughout the school year, I heartily welcome your positive and constructive input. We are honored that you have chosen our school for your child’s first steps of the journey of education, and it’s my great pleasure to start with you this journey we are beginning now. Together, we can create a brighter future for our dearest students.
Kind Regards,
Rima Tawakul
In Early Years and KS1 we learn through play in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment. We use the development matters statements to encourage independent and collaborative learning. Play underpins the delivery of all the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and the development and learning for young children. Well planned play, both indoors and outdoors, is important as young children learn with enjoyment and learn many new skills from being involved in purposeful, structured play. This therefore enables your child to build up important relationships with other children, and allows them to use their initiative and problem solving skills. It is through these experiences that children learn and develop.
We also integrate the use of technology in the ever-changing world to expose children to new technological advances whilst stimulating them with meaningful interactive videos and games.
To enhance the effective learning experience for children we tap into children’s natural curiosity to promote speech and language and develop your child’s cognitive, linguistic, social emotional and physical development.
As most of our learning are English as a second language learners, we teach English through a variety of different strategies including reading stories, drama and role play and arts and crafts.
As children move to Key stage One, we deliver the curriculum in a more structured environment focusing on the 4 core areas, English, Maths, Science and Topic as well as Arabic, Religion, Art, PE, Music and Modern Foreign languages.
Lessons will provide frequent opportunities for cross curricular links, discussion to extend thinking, check understanding, identify misconceptions and provide clear and direct feedback to children. Regular assessments will be done with the children in order for teachers to plan according to children needs.
At GPBS we pride ourselves on the strong foundation we set for children to take their first step onto their learning journey. EYFS follows the Statutory framework for the Early Years and Foundation stages.
The framework has overarching principles and covers 7 core areas for the development in children in their early years. The aim is to provide children with strategies that help them develop the emotional, social, and cognitive skills needed to become lifelong learners and support them to fulfil their full potential
Overarching principles outlined in the Early Years framework
7 cores areas of learning
Each area has its own set of skills to encourage collaboration, stimulation and accessible learning for each individual.
As your child moves into KS1 we follow both the National Curriculum for England and also the Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP) to prepare the children for the future journey through Checkpoint through to IGCSE. These strong curricula build on the foundations of the EYFS programme with an in-depth and comprehensive set of clear standards children will be working towards. EYFS and KS1 also has a strong ECA programme to promote more social opportunities, explore interest and to become more creative and to learn through fun.

The British section at Global Paradigm Baccalaureate School is more than just a segment within our school—it's a close-knit community marked by a strong spirit of support and teamwork. Students, parents, and teachers work hand-in-hand to nurture an environment that is both academically rigorous and emotionally supportive. Our educators in the British section go beyond teaching; they serve as mentors, fostering a culture of encouragement that inspires students to explore and develop their interests.
